Your Voyage on the Spot representative will pick you up from your Luxor hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle and begin your scenic journey north through the beautiful landscapes of Upper Egypt.

Your first stop is the sacred Temple of Seti I at Abydos, one of ancient Egypt’s most important religious sites. Abydos was closely associated with Osiris, the god of the afterlife, and was considered one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in ancient Egypt. The magnificent temple was commissioned by King Seti I and completed by his son Ramses II.

Explore the temple’s beautifully preserved halls, sanctuaries, columns, and intricate reliefs. Admire the remarkable depictions of ancient Egyptian gods, pharaohs, religious ceremonies, and sacred rituals. Your Egyptologist guide will reveal the fascinating history and religious significance of Abydos, including its connection to the ancient cult of Osiris.

Continue your journey to the magnificent Dendera Temple Complex, one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temple sites. The main temple is dedicated to Hathor, the goddess associated with love, motherhood, music, joy, and beauty.

Explore the temple’s impressive entrance, grand hypostyle hall, beautifully decorated columns, sacred chambers, and vividly preserved reliefs. Look up to admire the famous astronomical ceiling, featuring ancient Egyptian representations of the heavens and the renowned Dendera Zodiac.

Discover the temple’s hidden chambers and crypts, and learn about the rituals and beliefs that once took place within this sacred complex. Depending on access, enjoy views from the temple’s upper levels and appreciate the surrounding landscape from above.

After exploring both extraordinary temples, relax during your comfortable private drive back to Luxor. Return to your hotel with unforgettable memories of Abydos and Dendera, two of Upper Egypt’s most remarkable ancient treasures.
